Ugh. ‘Gun owner’ guilt and P-series lobotomy

Saw this the other day and it’s inspiration to buy two more(or more) guns:

First, this was his weapon to do with what he wants(providing he didn’t try to murder or rob anyone with it), including disposal.  But even though it wasn’t a high end gun, it’s a shame he couldn’t find a better owner for it.  It’s also a shame that he feels so guilty about what others have done(misused a gun) that he has the urge to destroy his gun instead of striving to be responsible and safe with it.  He mentions responsibility 6 times yet uses the bullshit antigun term ‘common sense laws and procedures’.  Also he says it was bought “to keep my family safe and lock it up to keep them safe from it.”, implying that the gun has the ability to get them rather than the other way around.  After destroying it he proudly proclaims that he submitted the proper paperwork to report it that way.  With all that trouble, why didn’t he just turn it over to the police instead?

Furthermore, he didn’t even manage to destroy it right!  The slide is mostly fucked, but the frame looks complete enough to be salvageable.  And the frame is the part that is considered a firearm in the U.S.  For this reason, demilled receivers require several cuts with a torch or cutoff saw.  The way the frame is in the picture, a smaller slide assembly could be fitted and the gun would be able to shoot again.  The old barrel could be cut into two pieces to be made into a ghetto derringer or two, but that’s more involved than most people get.  If the guy was to completely demill it, what about the other guns?  Did he destroy those too, or is he just acting on the misconception that pistols are deadlier?  If the shotgun and others weren’t sold or destroyed, anti gunners will demand more sacrifices eventually.  After all, any gun can be used by a criminal in a place where guns aren’t allowed for anyone else.  While you’re at it, ‘save a life, bin that knife!’  #ONELESSKNIFE  Why stop there?  The angle grinder could be used to slit wrists or murder someone.  Better crush it with the vice #ONELESSGRINDER  A vice could be dropped or tightened on someone’s melon.  What the fuck can be used to destroy a vice, a furnace? #ONELESSVICE  Fire is bad, destroy the furnace with a steam explosion or something #ONELESSFURNACE  Oh no, people think up bad ideas in their heads!  Everyone has to stick their head in the ground so we can all be safe!

 

Three problem-solving amigos

Yes, they are ugly, bulky, heavy big ol bricks.  But where else can anyone get a 9mm, a .40s&w, and a .45ACP for $490?  That’s close to what my XD45 cost, and Hipoints go for even less used.  It’s funny how the boxy xD looks slim and streamlined in comparison and can still hold more.

I bought the 9mm one first partly because I didn’t have anything in that caliber but mostly because of the price and for shits and giggles.  After doing so the urge to start a hipoint collection intensified.  The .40 and .45 were purchased as huge backups to guns I already had.  No plans to get the .380 one yet, but there is a carbine that I’d like to eventually get a version of.
